Tam's Fam Comes to Visit!

I am so thankful for great friends. You know the kind I mean. The ones you don't have to see every day, but when you do see them you feel as though no time has passed. Except if you look at their kids - then you realize TOO much time has passed. My friend, Tammy and her kiddos (sorry Ken - somebody has to pay the bills, right?) came to visit this weekend. Unfortunately, they also had to go home. A weekend is just not enough time. Even my kiddos were bummed out after they left. Moping around, get this.......doing homework to keep themselves occupied....I loved that part! But I love that I have a friend that I love and that she loves me, and that my kids love her and her kids, just like she and her kids love us! It is such a gift from God! I pray for this kind of friendships for all of my kids. She is truly a blessing!! (Too bad I didn't get any pictures of the 2 of us - we are too critical of ourselves anyway)

Someone Has a Crush on Grant!

Interestingly enough, this is NOT the first girl in Kindergarten that loves Grant! This girl (Marissa) made him this note during indoor recess. When I was in the classroom with her 3rd grade brother, I told him what she did. The boy then told me that he has to help her do those at home all the time! All she does is talk about Grant at home!

Lots of Basketball Fun

Thanks to Aunt Alicia, Greg and Jacob have had lots of basketball fun. The first 2 pictures are from the Pistons game and the second 2 are from the U of M basketball game. At both games, the boys made it on TV. These pictures were taken by me, with my phone from the TV. Cool!

A Revelation

My Bible study on the book of Romans has been quite an experience for me. It (well, actually the devil) has made me question if, in fact, I was really saved. I wanted to draw here what I drew in my Bible study book, but am not technological enough to do it, so......I drew this in Word, printed it out, took a picture with my phone, emailed it to myself, saved it, and imported it into my blog for you to see. It is THAT important (and I guess I have some technological skills, right?)  These circles are the result of my Bible reading and spending time with God. The explanation for why I am still saved, even though I do the things I do not want to do and I do not do the things I want to do. Sounds like anyone? What a WRETCH I am!!!!Who can save me? Jesus - ONLY JESUS!

I have also thought about the comparison of the 2 circles. I love how God showed this to me in a way that was completely meaningful to me - being a momma! And I realize that these circles may not work for everyone. There are some people, who for reasons I do not know, choose to turn their backs on their children. The comparison here would not work for these people. However, what this would do is show those children that while their earthly parents failed them, their Heavenly Father will not turn his back on them. He loves them simply because they are His children. It is THAT simple.

Simple, in the most complex way - ever. But simple. God's love.

Girl Talk

Grace had her friend Mallory spend the night. We ended up staying up late to talk about "girl things". It was a rather funny discussion, but it ended up being a really good time. Here are some pictures of them with "the book", and the next day they hosted a Bible study in my living room, and that is what the other pictures are.

Sporting Kids

Another Day in the Life.....

I love my job! I get to play with kids in the snow in winter! I love to include kids, who others exclude! I am extremely blessed to do what I do. And I get to see my OWN kiddos!!! These are some pictures of just another day at work for me!

Grandpas Do WHAT???

After Jacob's baseball practice at 242, we stayed to watch the Livingston Flyers club. A bunch of guys that fly fancy model airplanes. Gran was in his glory, as you can see in the pictures. He placed himself right in the middle of a bunch of guys and watched every move they made. Not one of the said a word to him, which surprised me. The rest of us, including a couple of Jacob's friends, sat at the end of the field and watched. The guys flying loved having heads to buzz by. However, in true Jadyn form, Jadyn says in a LOUD whisper, "These guys are ALL grandpas! I didn't know grandpas played with KID toys!!!"

Big Snow of 2014

Over the course of 24 hours, we received 18" of snow. I have been waiting for 12+ years for snow like this. We missed the last day of school before CHRISTmas break due to ice, and now we are on our 2nd snow day of 2004!
