I’m honestly not even sure when I last posted. I’m sure PLENTY has happened.
Fast recap of where we are: Jacob is a senior in high school, Grace is a junior, Jadyn is in 8th grade and Grant is in 6th grade.
Grant’s recent antics are what has prompted my diving back in here. I am currently a secretary at Grant’s school. One day recently the assistant principal was in Grant’s classroom observing his teacher. The lesson that day had to do with science words and words sorting. The teacher pointed to a word and asked someone to read it, Grant raise his hand and was called on, and said the word he saw. The word was I am currently a secretary at grants school. One day recently the assistant principal was in grants classroom observing his teacher. The lesson that day had to do with science words and words sorting. The teacher pointed to a word and asked someone to read it, Grant raise his hand and was called on, and said the word he saw. The word was ORGANISM. What Grant said was......orgasm! After the lesson was over the assistant principal took him out of the classroom and talk to him in the hallway. Following that conversation the assistant principal pulled me into his office to have a conversation with me about Grant being a “knucklehead“. When he told me what happened my exact words were, “Grant knows a lot of words. But I am certain he does not know that word.” The principal didn’t believe me. So I went and talk to his teacher and she said that in her 20 years of teaching that exact same thing has happened every single year. She heard it and she kept going. But leave it to Grant to come up with that.
Grant is also currently playing on a travel basketball team. They really aren’t very good. The one really bad kid on the team parents hired a “professional” to come in and help their son. He’s also helping the team. After yesterday‘s practice I saw this guy pull Grant to the side and talk to them for three or four minutes. On the way out Grant leans over to me and whispers “I don’t want to be the greatest at two sports. I just want to be the best at football. And Coach says that he sees a lot of talent in me and that I am the leader on this team.“ We definitely need to be working on a little bit of humility.
And finally Jadyn just came in from volleyball practice and showed me some screenshots she has from a Snapchat conversation. This conversation took place between Grant and the young lady that he likes. Remember he’s in sixth grade! But he told her that he really likes her, that he knows she doesn’t like him, he’s going to listen to a song called “sunshine“ because it reminds him of her, and he wrapped it up with I love you. Yikes! What the heck is going on?
