We recently took a quick trip to Shipshewana, Indiana. We were supposed to go camping with some friends that were new to camping, but since the weather was going to be rainy we decided to take the kids to "Amish Country". Greg got permission to take his MichiVan, so all 10 of us piled into the van for a fun-filled road trip. I was totally impressed with my kids response to the trip. I thought, for sure, that they would be bored and hate it. They completely surprised me by showing interest in the shops, people and even the museum!! The hotel we stayed at was incredible! Our room had a living area with a kitchenette and pull-out sofa, then it moved into an area that had 4 bunk beds on the left and the bathroom on the right, then into another large king-sized bedroom. It was great. And the kids favorite part was that each "section" had its own tv! 3 tvs in a hotel room was best (for them) - even though they didn't really watch tv. It's the idea, I guess. We sent our kids on a "back alley" buggy ride. We didn't want the overpriced commercial ride, we wanted authentic. Our friend took us to the "guy". So we sent our kids on a buggy ride through the country with Sam, and his horse, Jerry. We had an incredible time on this trip and thoroughly enjoyed our time with the Kerr family!
