Aunt Alicia gave us 4 tickets, and parking to a Tiger's game. The boys, Greg and I were going to go. Grant was super excited, as this was going to be his FIRST Tiger's game. He woke up the morning of that game and put on the Tiger's coat in the pictures. He proceeded to wear it ALL day and it was 86 degrees out! UGH. Then, Grandpa gave both boys $5 each to spend on whatever they wanted at the game. Grant's money was burning a hole in his pocket ALL day. He knew, without a shadow of a doubt, what he was going to get with his money. And, from the moment we arrived at Comerica Park, until he got it, he continued to ask for his "big pretzel". Jacob got his nachos. Then we had to have pop to wash it all down, then peanuts.....and of course, I HAD to have some cinnamon almonds. Then, we found out that our cousins were there and hung out with them for the fireworks afterwards. They were awesome!!

Golfing with Jacob
This was the first time Jacob had been on a "real" golf course. He has been playing at Grandpa's house, but it was time for the real thing. I took him to Ironwood Golf Course, incidentally the same course that hooked us up with the flags for Grandpa's birthday, just days before. It was so fun to watch him "see" things for the first time. The grass on the green was the best experience. He said. "What IS this?" I told him it was grass and he had to bend down and check. We had a great time and he was a darn good golfer. But, spoken like the mom - but really someone who can see, it doesn't surprise me. He is a great athlete. This first time was a beautiful day. But the second time we went, it was hotter than heck!! We went to Chemung Hills Country Club, and took along his friend Gordie. We had a great time, but it was too hot to be on the course. I guess we are fair weather golfers.
Grandpa's 69th Birthday
First we went to breakfast, at Mourad's Big Boy, where Jackie Dewan sat talking to herself while mom and I were feverishly trying to locate golf flags for dad's birthday present - on his birthday. Dad was serenaded by the kids and Ed, and Jackie from afar. Then the Mourads joined us for dad's birthday dinner at complete, complete with yellow cake with penuche frosting.
